MUSICA
DA SONAR (1996)
The title alludes obviously
to both the sonata form which offers the formal foundation of the work
as well as to the
sonorous mixture of this type of ensemble, with the purpose to bring the
percussion
instruments at the
same level of melodicity and expresivity as the piano's and the clarinet's.
In the two sections
of the work is used a flexibel structural-modal musical language containing
strong
references to the
folkloric ethos and to jazz. |
